Works great for advertised use (Large) & as a sling (Medium)

My shoulder arthritis is such that I can do everything (hike 5+ hours, weight lift, etc.) except sleep and sit for more than 10-15 minutes without support (locks up and is painful beyond belief to unlock it.)

I ordered a large and a medium. What I have found is the large works as advertised for reading and supporting my arm. I use the medium as a sling when I sit – this is obviously not the intended use, but it works. Experimentally, I found I need to keep my arm vertical in the sling.

When used as intended, it fully supported my shoulder and I felt no pain.

The Armbie as a sling is not quite as comfortable (some stress on the neck) as a sling designed for that purpose but is portable and easy to put on and the slight discomfort is not worth putting on a “real” sling.

I can recommend it highly for those with shoulder arthritis – both for the intended use and the “off label” use. Obviously if you need extended support like post-surgery or for injury it is not recommended, but if you need short term support it is nearly perfect.

great piece of kit

Received the armbie day before my 10 day trip to Argentina and it was awesome. Stuck in the middle seat on a 4 hour then a 6 hour plane ride was not a miserable with the armbie. My arms and hands had a place to be. It also provided additional warmth when the cabin got cool.

Bought this as a gift for my grandson. He travels a lot for work and sometimes has long flights. Giving it as a Christmas gift. Will not know till then if it was a good purchase.
